MEETING
NOTICE
PLACE: WHEATON BILLAGE CRAFT BUILDING
MILLVILLE,
NEW JERSEY
FEBRUARY 12, 2008
TIME 7:30 PM
Minutes of January 8, 2008
George Conover called the meeting to order with
9 members present. The minutes of October 9, 2007 (last meeting) were read and accepted as read.
The Treasurer’s report was read and accepted as read.
The Christmas
Dinner was discussed because some members were very disappointed with their meals. Some were served cold
and some at least 10 minutes after everyone else was served. Janice Sutton called Henrietta at the Paper
Waiter and told her how dissatisfied most people were. She said that there was a mix with who ordered what
which made a shortage in some meals but had no explanation for any of the other complaints. Members present
asked if maybe we could look into having our dinner somewhere else. Janice Sutton will follow up on this.
The Atlantic City Boat Show will be January 18, 19, and 20, 2008. MaryAnn Murphy is having Ann Fitzgerald
make up Rack Cards to hand out. Any left over will be distributed at next meeting.
Wildwood Crest Hydro fest is going to be October 4 and 5, 2008. This conflicts with Portsmouth,
Va. Ann Fitzgerald is very sorry to run the same weekend but had no other choice due to tides.
Ann tried to contact the conducting club at Portsmouth but got no response to several calls and e-mails.
Peggy Wendt gave us a run-down on the New Jersey State law prohibiting anyone under the age of 16 years to drive a
race boat. The Law did not pass in 2007 even though Peggy lobbied and attended meetings. The
way it has been is that if a law is not passed in a fiscal year than the process must start over from the beginning the next
year.
Our club’s APBA membership of $150.00 has to be paid. George
will take care of this.
George
has to talk to Zack Arrom about the donation of the Quad. See if it is still available for our raffle this
year. Also, talked about doing the Dover Speedway tickets for 2 again. Quite a mix up
last year with the Speedway and getting the tickets. John Fitzgerald finally got it all straightened out.
Being that there were not enough members present at this meeting to hold election of officers and trustees, the elections
will be held nest meeting. Please attend the February meeting if possible.
With no further business, old or new, Henry Wendt made a motion to adjourn and John Fitzgerald second.
