MEETING NOTICE
PLACE:
WHEATON BILLAGE CRAFT BUILDING
MILLVILLE,
NEW JERSEY
JULY 8,
2008
TIME 7:30 PM
Minutes of June 10, 2008
George Conover called the meeting to order
with 15 members present. The minutes of May 13, 2008 were read. One correction:
The APBA Grant Check was for $725.00. The treasurer’s report was read and accepted as read.
Report on file.
Order forms
for shirts were sent out to all members. The more shirts we sell the more profit for out club.
The Special Trophy will be for the two day event and
will be awarded by Mrs. Murphy after the Races on Sunday. John Fitzgerald mad a motion for this and Jack
Stetser second. All in favor by a show of hands none opposed. Motion carried.
Mrs. Murphy would like to have a picnic
for all of our volunteers. A suggestion was made that maybe they could also be WRBA guests at the Christmas
Party.
Mitch Brown reported on his
findings about the shuttle bus and driver. Approximately $57.00 per hour. A large van
would be cheaper and would be more practical.
Warren Brown reported on the Police Explorers. They have the date available. There
will be two explorers at each gate. The usual donation is $200.00 Warren made a motion
to allocate $200.00 for the donation. Frank Beck second the motion and all in favor, non opposed.
Motion carried.
Frank Beck
gave us an update on the Program Book. The committee has met and came up with a form for our advertisers.
Talked with a few printers and some were too expensive. Thinking about laying out the book themselves.
Class sponsors will have a place in the book on page with the class they are sponsoring. Working
on some different ideas. There will be no GNH class this year due to no boats in that class running.
Only 7 classes this year.
George
Conover is working on tow vehicles. Looking at tractors for this year, if not, then the pickup trucks again.
John Fitzgerald told us of Dujy D’Eathe,
Tom D’Eath’s wife, passing away. John has sent a card to family on behalf of WRBA.
Mitch Brown reported that the TV ads on Channel 40 have
a video that is available to us that just need a voice over. Speed Vision is from 5am to 12pm - $5.00 per
30 second ad in certain counties. Mitch will get more information and let us know at next meeting.
The visit to Atlantic County Vo-Tech has
been postponed until September or October, 2008.
With no further business, old or new, Jack Stetser mad a motion to adjourn and Mitch Brown second.
