MEETING NOTICE

PLACE: WHEATON BILLAGE CRAFT BUILDING

MILLVILLE, NEW JERSEY

Minutes of February 10, 2009

     George Conover called the meeting to order at 7:46 PM with 14 members present.  The minutes of January 13^th were read and accepted as read.  The Treasurer’s report was read and accepted as read.  Report on file. 

     George asked John Fitzgerald if the NASCAR raffle tickets were on order.  John said that he had to order the tickets for the 2009 season, was not able to order ahead for 2010 season.

     Motor Sports Show of January 16 & 17, 2009 went off very nicely with a 20’ X 60’ display area in a nice spot.  George Conover and Bob Zabady took their boats for display.

     Warren Brown said that the program books will be done again by the same committee as last year.  By our next meeting they will have the forms for ordering advertising to pass out to members.

     MaryAnn Murphy has received the two tapes from FOX news and has sent them to George.  Maybe we can use them somehow for this years race.

     George told us that the APBA sanction for this year has gone up $40.00 and the mailing by APBA has gone up $27.00.

     Henry Wendt suggested that Travis Johnson of APBA Promotional Fund be contacted as soon as possible.  There are limited funds available for this year.

     We will have to look for a new dealership for trucks for towing in the pits for this year.  The dealer that sponsored us for this has gone out of business.  Vickie Emmell is going to look for a new sponsor. 

     Henry and Peggy Wendt reported on the National Meeting.  Four general rule changes as follows:

     GSR 3A.2:  Delete the current rule and replace it with, “For a participant who races unrestrained in an open cockpit, the upper fifty percent (50%) of the helmet must be a single color of the following:  yellow, or orange, or international orange, or fluorescent red.”

     GRR 1.F.1:  Add a new sentence to the beginning of this rule.  The new sentence states, “The Race Director shall function as Chairman of that event’s Race Committee.” The rest of GRR1.F.1 remains as written.

     GRR 19.1:  Delete the current rule and replace it with, “The referee (or assistant referee) my give a yellow card or red card to a driver for behavior at the race site during the sanction period.”

     GRR 31.2:  Delete the current rule and replace it with, “At all sanctioned events Referee and Assistant Referee, selected from the list of approved Referees, shall be present.”

     With no further business, old or new, Warren Brown made a motion to adjourn and Dan Conover second the motion.  Meeting adjourned at 8:45 PM.
