Minutes of June 9, 2009
George Conover
called the meeting to order at 7:43 PM with 11 members present. The minutes of May 12th were read and with one minor
change, Warren Brown contacted Jim Stewart about printing program books not Frank Beck, the minutes were accepted as read.
The Treasurer’s was read and accepted as read. Report on file.
Clayton Ingersoll of
Hamilton Township called George and told him that we will not be able to park the motor homes in vacant lot down the street
from pits this year. George had sent a letter for permission and it was denied. Also
the County contacted George about the use of the cove and dam. Forms have been filled out and sent in.
George is handling this.
The $25.00 fee for WRBA tax exemption status renewal has been sent in
by Karen Rivera.
Warren Brown has asked how the Program Book ads were going and said that Frank Beck has been receiving forms but has
not talked to Frank recently to tell us any more information.
Darin Oberman of the Atlantic County Sherriff’s Office called
George and declined our use of the scouts for this year. Boys are age 12 to 19 and Mr. Oberman feels that
the boys are not experienced enough for this duty. George is going to contact Egg Harbor Township Explorers
to see if they might be interested.
The Wildwoods Hydrofest planning is moving along. John
and Ann Fitzgerald are very happy about the regatta being named the “New Jersey State Governor’s Cup” after
6 years of trying.
Mays Landing Community Day is set for June 27th. Only have room for 2 boats.
Bill
Densten was asked about the Millville Rescue Squad being at out rave in September. Bill said that all was
lined up but would call them to remind them. Don’t forget the Millville Car Show on August 8, 2009.
If
anyone is interested and still needs the Boat Safety Certificate Mike Kane has an in with the NJ Power Squadron and can set
up an 8 hour class. Please call mike at 1-609-522-8520 if you are interested.
Vickie Emmell was unable
to get any tow trucks but Don Kolb’s brothers have pickups and would be glad to be at our Regatta with them.
Warren
Brown made a suggestion that the boats put in the water waiting to race should be moved down to the beach area to get them
out of the line of the first turn. George is going to look to see if this can be done.
Henry
Wendt would like, for safety reasons, WRBA to put a NO ADMITTANCE area around crane and ENFORCE it.
With not further business,
old or new, Mike Kane made a motion to adjourn and Karen Rivera second the motion. Adjourned at 8:40pm
