MEETING NOTICE

PLACE: WHEATON BILLAGE CRAFT BUILDING

MILLVILLE, NEW JERSEY

October 13, 2009

TIME 7:30 PM

______________________________________________________________________________

Minutes of September 8, 2009

George Conover called the meeting to order at 7:40 PM.  The minutes of August 11th were read and accepted as read.

Treasurer’s report was read by George in Karen’s absence and accepted as read.  Report on file.

George sent 12 posters to MaryAnn Murphy.  George also gave posters and insurance papers to the Hamilton Township and Atlantic County.

George and MaryAnn went to the Clarion Hotel to reserve and pay for rooms for the Rescue Squad.

Janice Sutton made a motion to honor one of our long time members by an appreciation plaque for all of his financial support over the past many years.  All in favor by show of hands, motion carried.  Janice and Dave Sutton will take care of getting the award.

Atlantic City Press is doing an article about our Regatta on Thursday September 10th promoting the race.  The Atlantic Currant is doing a story on WRBA and racing members to promote the race.

Program Books are done and Tammy Hickerson had them mailed to George on Wednesday, September 9th.  $1,325.00 was collected for ads and approximately $800.00 was spent on printing and mailing to George.  A profit of approximately $525.00 for WRBA.  Good job Program Book Committee.

Tow vehicles and drivers have been lined up for races.  A tent and table have been supplied for Pat Boyle for pit pass sales and sales of Mugs, Patches, T’s, etc.

A discussion was started by Barbara Brown about the new rule from the APBA to let people wear open toe shoes in Pits.  Our Risk Manager, Warren Brown, would like closed toe shoes, which he feels is much safer.  Mike Kane made a motion that only closed toe shoes in Pits and all in favor by show of hands.  Motion carried.

Congratulations to Mitch Brown on his announcing the races at Port Deposit.  Job very well done.  Mitch will be announcing, with the help of Bill Moore, at the Daniel J. Murphy Jr. Memorial Regatta September 12th and 13th.

With no further business, old or new, Barbara Brown made a motion to adjourn and Mike Kane second motion.  Adjourned 8:40 PM
